Rachel Hetzner, DNP

Rachel Hetzner has been a bachelors-prepared registered nurse from the University of
Michigan- Ann Arbor since 2008. Following graduation with her BSN, two years were
spent in a Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit and five years were spent in a
Neuro/Trauma SICU at a level-1 trauma center. She shifted her career goals towards
primary care and graduated in December 2014 with a Doctor in Nursing Practice degree from Wayne State University. She has been practicing as a doctorally-prepared
Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner since January 2015 and is also
Clinical Faculty at the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor’s School of Nursing. She also
serves as a state board member for the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners. Her
clinical inquiry focus was on HPV prevention in adolescent males and she is interested
in primary care throughout adolescent to geriatric patient populations. Rachel enjoys
spending time with her family and friends, traveling, Michigan football, and learning
about American and European history.
